Welcome to a New Year.  2011, it is good to see you.  I look forward to what is ahead and I aim to be productive.  I am excited to learn more and see what accomplishments I can make.  This webpage and blog are my first step to following through with my plans.

This past summer, I enrolled at the New York Institute of Photography and am working my way through a full on photography course.  With our busy summer and then the holidays, I hit a road block.  I am not a believer in resolutions at the New Year.  I figure if you want to make a change, make it - regardless of what time of year it.  So....mid-December I made a decision to be more proactive in something I truly am passionate about and work harder to prove to myself that I can do it.  I originally planned to break out the camera every day and take a picture of something.  365 somethings....  Saying three hundred sixty five was overwhelming in and of itself.

Sooooo... I decided to change my plans.  Then Project 52 came about.  My goal?  Only 52 somethings.  I can commit to 52 photos... right?  Not only can I... but I will.  To better help myself accomplish that, I knew that I needed to have some sort of pressure on me, pushing me to do it.  This will also help me to seek out somethin

So I created this Blog.  I will post my weekly photos that will become part of my Project 52.

In an attempt to not only pick up my camera more frequently, I have also set some monthly guidelines to follow.  I have decided on 12 themes that I will intentionally challenge myself.  I want to learn more and what better way to do that, than to challenge myself...?  The following are the themes I have semi-decided on.  I still have time to change my mind.  No!  wait... I don't.  Ok... this is what I have decided on.  :-)

January - Bokeh shots
February - Winter scenes
March - Shapes
April - Colors
May - Monochrome (B/W)
June - Textures
July - Macro
August - People
September - Shoes
October - Trees
November - Animals
December - Lights

Within this webpage and Blog, you will see pictures I have taken.  Most of which are un-edited as I am not proficient with photo-editing software yet.  That is a whole other monster in my opinion...  I will journal what I learned, my struggles, my thoughts and inspiration along the way.

Please feel free to comment as I will learn from your opinions and thoughts.  I hope to have a few followers to make myself more accountable and hopefully assist in better accomplishing my goal.

Thank you for visiting.  Please feel free to leave a comment below.  Wish me luck!  Again - Happy New Year!  Best wishes for a fantastic 2011!
